Packing Tips & Tricks: The Basics

Planning a vacation to France to tour the countryside on horseback? You may be wondering what you should pack for your big excursion. There will be a few basic items that everyone needs and items based on the time of year and the location.

Basic Necessities

These are the basic necessities you’ll always need when going on a horseback riding vacation, these include:

  • Camera
  • Passport or identification
  • Shampoo, conditioner and soap (If you are staying in Bed & Breakfasts)
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Deodorant
  • Socks and undergarments
  • Hat (Great for warmer months)

  • Appropriate clothing
  • Sunscreen (Recommended)

Climate Issues and Considerations

Most of the clothing that you bring alone on your ride will be decided on the time of year you’ll be going.

Janurary – April

These are colder months going from lowest to highest temperatures respectively. The average temperatures are between 5 and 9 degrees Celsius during these months. Converted to Fahrenheit, these temperatures are 41 – 48 degrees.
