An island horseback riding vacation to love! The Azores Isles are an archipelago (a group of islands)  located in the Atlantic Ocean near Portugal. The region has been selected as one of the “2017 Top 100 Sustainable Destinations” and recipient of the “European Best Landscape Award.”  Here you will discover a riding haven with well-trained Lusitano and Cruzado Portuguese horses. The landscapes are breath-taking with views of the ocean graced with colorful gardens and verdant pastures. São Miguel, known as the Green Island, holds a treasure full of interesting, exciting and exotic places waiting to be explored. You’ll find a wide variety of short and long trails. The rides go in different directions each day and can be adapted to all riding levels. You can unpack and relax, knowing that you return to the same place each night and even take a day rest if you feel like. A planned non-riding day offers either shopping in Ponta Delgada, the historical center of São Miguel’s main city or a whale and dolphin safari (ticket not included – 55€ per person). Your accommodation is a genuine 17th-century estate with beautiful surroundings near the ocean. Non-riding activities included two beautiful nearby golf courses, beaches, lagoons, thermal waters, whale and dolphin safaris, fishing, sailing and scenic diving.   RIDING IN PORTUGAL   RIDING IN THE AZORES
