Ride Overview - British Columbia Ride
Get ready for picturesque horseback riding vacation in British Columbia, Canada! Your North Okanagan Mountains trails will cross 300 acres bordering the Provincial Crown land. The region is home to a flourishing wilderness roaming with wildlife like black bear and deer. Springtime riding offers mountaintops beaming with wildflowers. Summers bring swimming in the local lakes and autumn boasts trails canopied with brilliant red, yellow, orange and purples leaves. In addition, a non-riding tour of the famous Okanagan wineries is planned. Your mounts are the smooth riding and gentle natured Icelandic horses. Your lodging is a cozy log cabin. This ride will provide breathtaking views and a rich wildlife habitat.

Ride Itinerary - British Columbia Ride
Transfer from the airport to Vernon. Your guide will meet you in Vernon. After you have settled into your cabin, you can stroll around the farm and visit the horses. You will meet your fellow riders during a happy hour and dinner.
After a good night’s sleep and a delicious breakfast, you will have an introduction to the Icelandic horse. After an assignment of your horse, you will ride under guidance in the arena. Next is a lunch break and then your group is off for an afternoon ride through the lush forest.
Tuesday is a serious day of riding into the exciting backcountry with a good chance to see some of the local wildlife. It is not uncommon to see coyotes, deer, bears, baldheaded eagles, and grouse. Lunch will be a trail picnic. Ride back to the facilities and relax …. the hot tub awaits!
Today, your group will enjoy a non-riding tour of the famous Okanagan wineries. You will get to sample award-winning wines and have a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, you can relax in the hot tub, hike, or do one of the many fascinating activities possible in this area. At 7:30 PM, you will be served a traditional Canadian barbecue.
After a hearty breakfast, you will mount up for a ride through the Canadian forest to the top of the mountain where a stunning view overlooking the open country valley awaits you. Your group will savor a tasty picnic lunch on the summit. Your trail will then descend to a level path where your horse paces at a nice tolt.
You will take your horse on a final morning wilderness trail. Your group will then return to the facilities for your last lunch together, around 2 – 3 pm. Afterward, you will depart for either the airport or a post-ride hotel.
