A enjoyable horseback riding vacation in Spain! The impressive Gredos Mountains are located in the central range of Spain. The summits are surround by four distinct river valleys – the Tietar, Alberche, Tomes and Corneja. In these valleys, incredibly clear deep blue water is forged by sheer grey granite rock walls. The Tietar Valley is considered a magical place to admire the works of nature. The region explodes with brilliant red, yellow and ocher in the spring and autumn. The Alberche Valley is where the black vulture and the Spanish Imperial eagle nest in lofty oak and pine forests. If you are a birdwatcher, you will enjoy the Corneja Valley where Bee-eaters and Hooppos reside under the imposing rugged peaks. This valley boasts some of the most iconic architecture of Spain. The Tormes Valley is the wildest and most diverse of all the landscapes of Avila. The landscape is covered with oak, chestnut, wild pine, alders and birch and is home to mountain goats and griffin vultures. The village stone homes are built with tiny windows to protect against the harsh elements. You will ride through all four valleys and find your Hispano Arab horse most suited to the diverse terrain. They are noble with good temperaments like Andalusians yet rough and resistant as the Arabs. This ride boasts the best paella and an exquisite BBQ of Avilan beef.  RIDING IN SPAIN
