Ride Overview - Cross Country Jumping and Dressage in the Black Forest
Improve your novice – intermediate dressage or novice – advanced cross country jumping skills in the renown Black Forest. The riding facility includes 2 indoor arenas, 2 sand arenas, 1 dressage ring and a complete cross-country course. Your afternoons will be riding through countryside straight from the Grimm’s fairy tales. Your lodging is a 16th-century rural castle situated on a ridge between the Schönbuch and the Black Forest. Once an agricultural manor house belonging to the Württemberg Royal Family and summer residence of Franziska von Hohenheim, wife of Duke Carl-Eugen, it was known far and wide 200 years ago. The historical character of the place – designated as a place of historical importance – with its big old half-timbered buildings has been retained to the present day.
“I had a wonderful time. I loved the castle — rustic but very well made…never seen so many high-quality horses in one location. The food was excellent; four stars in my opinion. Fritz’s instruction was incredible During the cross country lessons, we got to gallop and jump obstacles non-stop for the entire class period. I am definitely going back in the spring.” S.K., Virginia
