Ride Overview - Galiny Palace Ride
A delightful horseback riding vacation in Poland! The ride is located on the border of Warmia and Masuria in northeastern Poland, and 135 miles/217 km north of Warsaw. Your trails cross endless meadows and forests and are destined to picturesque villages. Your lodging is either in a 19th century Grange or a 16th-century palace. The palace is recognized as one of the best restored antique treasures and is one of the few remaining examples of Renaissance architecture in the former Duchy of Prussia. Erected as a fortified structure, the palace was surrounded by a moat. In addition to trail riding, beginner and novice riders can also take lessons in one of the many arenas. More experienced riders can improve their skills in flatwork exercises and gridwork/showjumping classes. There is also carriage driving! After a long day in the saddle, you will have the opportunity to unwind in the spa, which offers a choice of massages.
“Very well organised. Friendly, professional staff. Loved being able to see the foals, walk around the grounds, cycle, etc. (Accommodation?) Excellent standard. Loved the bedroom. Food was both tasty and beautifully presented. (Horses?) Probably the fittest best-schooled horses I have ever ridden on a riding holiday. I rode 5 in all over 3 days and loved the variety. Tack & equipment put mine to shame! (Guides?) Competent, friendly, professional with a sense of humour. I learnt loads.” C.G.

You will be transferred from Gdansk Airport. The 2 1/2 hour drive will bring you to a comfortable hotel. You will meet your guide and fellow riders during a delicious Warmian dinner. After the dinner, you will visit the stables and mount up for a 2-hour ride in the riding arena. During this time, your riding skills and style will be matched with a horse.
Each day begins with a traditional breakfast. Afterward, you will begin your guided trail which is about 18 miles/30 km and lasts approximately 6 hours (including the time for a lunch and a short break). Every day is a different route. Lunch will be served in every location. When you return to Galiny, you will enjoy a robust dinner served in the restaurant.
Get ready for an intense trail ride! After breakfast, an old hunter’s path through forests and meadows will lead you to the historic village of Sulowo. You will ride for about 3 hours and enjoy picturesque views. Your group will stop for lunch in a traditional restaurant and then ride back to Galiny.
Together with your guides, you will prepare your horse for a terrain trip. Your trails will traverse across Warmia’s wonderful meadows and forests. This is a historical region in northern Poland. The monks at the monastery will prepare the lunch for you. After a short rest in the monastery gardens, you will mount up for a ride back to Galiny.
Another beautiful route will lead you to the picturesque village of Krawczyki. Before 1945, the area was part of Germany (East Prussia). Lunch will be served in a traditional agritourism farm. After lunch and a short rest, your group will ride back to Galiny.
