Ride Itinerary - Iceland Gullfoss Glacier Ride
span style=”color: #000000;”>On arrival, take the Flybus to the Reykjavik meeting point. In the afternoon, you will then be transferred to Myrkholt where the horses and staff are waiting for you. You will meet your fellow riders and guides at dinner.
After an introduction to the Icelandic horse and its special gaits, your group will start your ride to the beautiful Gullfoss waterfall and then to the Bláfell mountain where your group will spend the night at the Fremstaver Mountain Cabin.
You will cross Hvítá (White river) to enjoy the wonderful panorama over the glacier-filled lake Hvítárvatn. Your group will spend the night in the Árbúðir Cabin on the banks of Svartá (Black river).
You will continue your ride along the rough lava field Kjalhraun. You will enjoy the spectacular view of two striking glaciers Langjökull and Hofsjökull. Soft and sandy riding paths will then lead you to Gíslaskáli Mountain Cabin in the Hveravellir Geothermal area, a unique geothermal area between the glaciers.
While riding across Kjalhraun, folk tales will add interest as you experience the magical unspoiled nature. Your destination is the Gislaskali Mountain Cabin in Hveravellir.
Today’s route leads you further north to the gorgeous river Seyðisá. where the horses run free with us On the soft paths of this mystical highland area, your horse can run free. Your lodging for the night is Galtará Cabin.
Your group are getting closer to the green valleys. You can enjoy exhilerating gallops over the soft riding paths of the northern highlands. All good things, however, come to an end as your group arrive at your final destination, Hof in Vatnsdalur. You will celebrate with your fellow riders a successful tour with a great farewell dinner, storytelling and singing.
After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Reykjavik.

Best Months to Ride: July and August. February, March, September and October are typically the best time to see the Northern Lights.
