    A horseback riding vacation to immerse into the culture of India from royalty to villagers. The equestrian vacation will take you across Rajasthan, a vibrant land famous for legends of chivalry, heroism and royalty. Magnificent forts and opulent palaces dot the countryside. Kingdoms were carved and established by the Rajputs on horseback, while swords were stained with enemy blood. You will ride on these trails that once reverberated with the galloping of the mighty Rajput horses. In addition, you will experience the life in traditional villages from oxen turning wheels to bring up water from deep wells to a special dancing horse performance to a typical Rajasthani dance and folk songs around a bonfire. Your evenings will be spent in historic castles which include an opulent palace,  a maharaja’s hunting lodge, and a 13th-century mansion. One night will be spent in comfortable tents.   RIDING IN INDIA   

  • Ride Itinerary - India Grand Castles Horseback Ride

    Day 1: 
    On arrival at Delhi airport, you will be received by the representative with a garland welcome and transferred to your Delhi hotel to relax after your flight.

    Day 2: 
    As per your return flight schedule, you will be transferred to back to the Delhi Airport to board your flight to Udaipur. On arrival in Udaipur, you will be met by the representative and driven to Kumbhalgarh. This is a World Heritage Site Mewar fortress on the westerly range of Aravalli Hills. Built in the 15th century by Rana Kumbha, Kumbhalgarh is also the birthplace of Maharana Pratap, the great king and warrior of Mewar. Occupied until the late 19th century, the fort is now open to the public and is spectacularly lit for a few minutes each evening. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel.

    Day 3: 
    After breakfast, you will mount up for your ride to Ranakpur, home to one of the biggest and most important Jain temple complexes of India, covering an area of nearly 48,000 square feet area with 29 halls, 80 domes and supported by 1444 marble pillars, each of them intricately and artistically carved yet no two of them are alike. Along the way, your horse will carry you through the Kumbhalgarh wildlife sanctuary which provides a natural abode to many creatures like the wolf, leopard, sloth bear, hyena, jackal, jungle cat, sambhar, nilgai, chausingha (the four horned antelope), chinkara and hare. In fact, Kumbhalgarh is the only sanctuary of Rajasthan, where you can trace wolf engaged in its activities. In the summer, you can easily find pack of wolves strolling around water sources in the sanctuary. If you find your interest is in birds, you can see grey jungle fowl, peacocks, doves, red spur owls, parakeets, golden oriole, bulbul, and white-breasted kingfisher. The area also enjoys a variety of flora including many trees and plants having herbal qualities. Lunch will be served at the side of a lake which contains 22 crocodiles. Afterward, your trail will take you along rich farmland, lakes and colorful villages located on southern edge of the Aravalli Hills, perhaps the world’s oldest mountains to Ranakpur where an exceptionally beautiful 15th century Jain temple complex is found. You will stay at a hotel in Ranakpur.

    Day 4: 
    After breakfast, you will ride through some amazing terrain and scrub jungle. After a lunch break at the vast Methane (Bird) Lake. Your group will then continue to Ghanerao, a popular tourist spot with many temples. After you dismount, you can stroll around the village and relax in your hotel.

    Day 5: 
    Your trail will lead to the bustling village full of life, color and laughter, Chak Sujapur.  On arrival in the village, you will settle into your tent. In the evening, your group will enjoy a special dancing horse performance.

    Day 6: 
    Along your trail, you will delight in the many scenic views and native women in colorful dress who will pass by your side. Your destination is Kotri, a traditional Rajasthani village nestled on the right bank of the Indus River. Lunch will be served in a picturesque village. You will stay in a hotel in Kotri.

    Day 7: 
    Your horse will carry you across the vast scrubland to Sodawas. After a traditional picnic lunch in the scenic village of Utwan, you will ride pass several unique villages and their friendly residents in their colorful traditional garb.  You have also the opportunity to see oxen turning wheels to bring up water from deep wells. On arrival in Sodawas, you will check in to your hotel.

    Day 8: 
    After breakfast, you will follow a trail that takes your group through old mud hut villages. On arrival in Sardar Samand, you will check into the Sardar Samand Palace Hotel. Built in the 1930’s, this palace is perched on a hill at the edge of the serene lake so you will have an opportunity to see a variety of migratory birds. This is one of the finest heritage hotels of India and is noted for a seamless blending of traditional Rajasthani hospitality and modern luxurious accommodations. The authentic architecture of the palace is well retained and the lush green gardens in the hotel will be a pure delight.

    Day 9: 
    Morning enjoys a leisurely breakfast. Later a 2-hour drive to Jodhpur. Jodhpur is the second largest city in the Rajasthan. It is called the Gateway to Thar, as it is literally on the edge of the Thar Desert. It is also called the “Sun City” as the sun shines very bright here. On arrival enjoy the sightseeing including Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada & Ummed Bhavan Palace. Overnight stay in Hotel.

    Day 10: 
    Morning free for leisure. Later in the afternoon transfer to Jodhpur Airport to board flight for Delhi. On arrival in Delhi at Airport, pick-up by our representative & transfer to International Airport to board your return flight to home.
