Mustang Monument is a ranch with serious style, where philanthropic tourism meets luxury wilderness adventure. Surrounded by the wide horizons and soul-soothing open spaces of Nevada, the resort offers a 360 degree luxury experience and an unforgettable wildlife adventure. The reserve covers 900 square miles of mountainous and gloriously scenic private land just two hours from Salt Lake City, Utah. The eco resort is home to 600 descendants of the wild horses that helped pioneers settle in the untamed west. Now, you are not only offered the sole opportunity to see Mustang horses in their natural habitat, but also are cocooned in a degree of luxury – either glamping in a tipi or relaxing in an upgraded cottage.

“A sustainable 900 square mile preserve for wild mustangs. 650 rescued wild mustangs roam the property, and are now the stars of this glamping retreat. Range shooting, ropes courses, repelling, guided historic hikes, and archery are just some of the activities offered. And of course, it wouldn’t be luxury without in-teepee spa treatments.”

  • Ride Itinerary - Mustang Monument Wild Horse Ride

Horse-riding is a big part of the Mustang Monument experience. Catering to all abilities from beginners to experts, you will have the opportunity to ride broken in Mustangs up the spectacular Spruce Mountain. Setting off after a hearty breakfast back at base-camp, you will be riding with Mustang’s team of cowboys and rodeo champions. Your trail will ascend the mountain and then descend through tangled forests into a clearing where your horse can stretch their legs on the wide open hillside and you can fill your lungs with the fragrance of sagebrush. Along the way, you will see old derelict gold mines and ghost towns. Tumbledown buildings are evidence of the history surrounding Mustang Monument, and the pioneers that used to live and travel here, in search of their fortune. And reaching the top of Spruce Mountain, not only are you greeted with completely breath-taking views of snow-topped mountains, green sloping fields, and lush forests, but you will also be refreshed with a delicious gourmet picnic. With Native American rugs and cushions laid on the grass, you will enjoy salads, artisan sandwiches and wraps, and decadent brownies; a welcome break and energy boost for the ride down the mountain. You will also have the option to drive with the Mustang Monument team instead if you don’t feel like riding again. Extra early rides can also be arranged.
