  • Ride Overview - Sardinian Mountain to Sea Ride
    • Beaches
    • Coastal Mountains
    • Stationary

A charming horseback riding vacation in Sardinia!  The island is surrounded by the emerald Mediterranean Sea and boasts secret coves and snow-white sandy beaches. Your ride will include trails up to the interior Montiferru mountains and end with a gallop along the beach.  Along the way, you will experience all the lovely flora that the isle offers: olive and fruit trees on the mainland, pungent pine and lofty oaks in the higher elevation and finally Mediterranean coastal shrub. In addition, the volcanic nature of the mountain provides a landscape similar to the moon. Native wildlife includes wild boar, fox, Sardinian hare, European hedgehog, least weasel, marten, the rare Sardinian wildcat, vulture, carrion crow, peregrine falcon, hoopoe, little owls and migratory birds.  RIDING IN ITALY

The country hotel is found in the heart of Sardinia, in the Abbasanta area, a meeting point between Montiferru, Marghine and Barigadu. It is an area rich in fragrances and ancient flavors. Your hosts contend that the area is a refined piece of cloth, in which the history and traditions which have been woven into the area are still alive today.  The land is kissed by the sun amongst rocks, water wind, olives and oaks. Ruins of ancient places of worship dedicated to the water god S’ Abba Santa dot the island. Your lodging room is nestled in a park of age-old oak trees and paddocks with horses roaming free. The landscape is characterized by pastures that are enclosed by stone walls that surround the tancas built in the 18th century.

“For the equestrian inclined this is a haven.” D.L.
