Ride Overview - Trails of the Black Forest
Here is an horseback equestrian vacation straight from a Grimm’s fairy tale! Riding in Germany means winding trails canopied by pungent pine trees and streams of sunlight. A 500-year-old stone and timbered castle manor peeks through the forest as picturesque villages are nestled in the wooded groves. You will have a choice of either an inn to inn ride or stationary hack ride. Traditional German cuisine is featured at each meal. Breathe the crisp mountain air; see breathtaking panoramas of snow-capped mountains, stoic forests, and postcard-perfect homes; savor robust meals; and enjoy the peace and tranquility – a ride to fill the senses and the heart!

Ride Itinerary - Trails of the Black Forest
Sunday:
Transfer from the train station to your castle lodging. You will meet your fellow riders and your guide at dinner.Monday:
To become familiar with your horse, you will spend the morning and afternoon riding across the castle estate. Your trails will lead you across Eden-green meadows and through stoic forests.Tuesday:
Your horse will carry you on the ascending path to the picturesque mountain village of Besenfeld. The forest is sometimes dark and mysterious, sometimes bright and full of life! Bubbling springs and streams roll through the meadows and pastures of sunny valleys and the mountain ridges of the Black Forest majestically rise over everything. Your lodging for the next two nights is a quaint and cozy inn.Wednesday:
Today, you will continue your journey on a shorter ride to the Murgtal Valley. A traditional lunch will be served in a venue overlooking the village and 11th-century castle of Schwarzenberg. You will enjoy postcard-perfect views of the village nestled in the heights of the Black Forest. After a break, your horse will carry you back to the village of Besenfeld where you will join your fellow riders for a cold drink and then you can relax for the rest of the day.Thursday:
Your ride along the old Wine Road which meanders through Schwarzwald region, home to the locally famous Trollinger wine. The scenery here is spectacular – pristine nature that is untouched by civilization. For lunch, your ride will stop at the quaint “Grünhütte” (green hut) which is located in a clearing in the woods, above the village of Wildbad. A hearty meal which includes the specialty – homemade German “Pfannkuchen” (pancakes) with local berries will be served. Back in the saddle, you will ride towards the Enztal Valley to enjoy a nice last gallop. Your day ends at Castle Sindlingen, where a farewell German dinner will be served.Friday:
